This is so much better than store bought and I feel so much better using this as an oil replacement in my baking! This batch makes about three cups! I love cinnamon and the health benefits it has for the heart so I tripled it in my version, but feel free to tone it down if you want a lighter colour apple sauce or you just don’t love the taste of cinnamon! As well feel free not too add the sugar if you find the sweetness of the apples is enough.
4 Large Baking Apples- Peeled & Cored
3 Teaspoons Cinnamon
1/4 cup of Sugar
3/4 cup of Water
1 Teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
Using a medium sized pot pour in all your ingredients except for the vanilla extract and cook on medium heat for about five to ten minutes until the apples become tender. Remove from heat and use a potato masher to break the mixture down until you get the texture you want and finally stir in the vanilla. Voila!
