This is one of my favourite smoothie recipes, its creamy and packed with nutrients!
2 cups- Romaine Lettuce
1/2 – Avocado (pitted)
A handful of Strawberries
2 teaspoons- Chia Seeds
1 cup- Coconut Water
3 or 4- Ice Cubes
Simply throw in your romaine lettuce, avocado and strawberries. Sprinkle with your Chia seeds for extra protein & fibre. Pour in your coconut water to thin out the smoothie, feel free to add more if you do not want it as thick.
Add your Ice cubes last to chill the mixture. Blend on high for up to a minute to ensure the romaine is completely blended into the smoothly. If you want a sweeter smoothie feel free to add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup, but i like the light sweet taste the strawberries give!
Recipe makes two 500ml servings! Its a perfect meal on a hot spring/summer day!
